FEMA Trailers : Katrina destroyed the houses that sat on these four adjacent lots.  Now there are dozens of FEMA trailers, “temporary” home for families who lived in this part of East Biloxi.  Many of the people living in these trailers are struggling with the uncertainty of the future, wondering how they will ever have a proper home again.

Carolyn's House Day Two 2 : A memory box made by Caroline’s 10-year-old granddaughter, Jenay.  She is still grieving the loss of her pre-Katrina life.  The box is filled with colorful beaded necklaces, hair bands, and cloth bracelets.  Jenay’s mother is serving in Iraq with the National Guard and her father is not around, so she is living with her grandmother.

Carolyn's House Day Two 1 : While the four of us were at Marion's the rest of the group went to East Biloxi to work on Carolyn's house and remove a ceiling at Steve Kul, Jr's house. The following five photos and captions were taken and written by Jeff Lefkoff.– Eating lunch on the porch of Miss Caroline’s house.  The house was under six feet of water, which destroyed the interior floor and walls.  We gutted the interior, pulling out bath tubs, sinks, and stripping walls to expose the studs.  We created the pile in front.  To the right of the house is the FEMA trailer, where Caroline lives with her husband and three of their 34 grandchildren.
